Louis Van Gaal's disappointing start hit a new low in midweek as Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at third tier minnows Milton Keynes Dons in the League Cup second round. Before that United lost their opening game of the season at home to Swansea City and drew 1-1 away to Sunderland last weekend.
